It costs a lot to attend a WRC meeting.  Travel and meeting expenses for 3-4 week conference can top $10,000 or more in an international city like Geneva, even for the most frugal.  Without new donations, DARF funds on hand won’t last indefinitely.  For an amateur delegate to attend future WRC and the even a few of the preparatory meetings costs between $20 – 35,000 (or more, depending on exchange rates) over the four-year period from the end of one WRC to the end of the next.  While that’s a lot of money, it’s a fraction of what commercial interests spend to ensure that their views are heard.
